Ihtisab is a private, offline app. It has no account, no server, and no network connection. Everything you record stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data — because there is nowhere for it to go.
All of your worship records — prayers, qada make-ups, sunnah prayers, Qur'an reading, athkar, fasting, and any menstruation-exemption days — are saved in a database on your device only. They are never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes this data.
If you allow it, the app reads your device's location once to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are. This calculation happens entirely on your device (using an offline calculation library — no requests are made to any server). Your coordinates are stored only on your device, are used only to compute prayer times, and are never transmitted or shared.
Granting location is optional. If you decline, the app simply shows no prayer times rather than guessing — nothing else stops working.
Prayer and athkar reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are not push notifications; no reminder data leaves your device, and the app holds no remote-push capability at all.
The app is safe for all ages. It collects no personal information and contains no ads, purchases, or external links to user-generated content.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
